So… I started my job yesterday! 

I’ve been in France for about a week and a half now and I’ve had lots of fun. 

But being an au pair is actually really really fun so far!

I have three girls, M, P, and M, and they are 8, 6, and 3.

Big M is almost 9 and she won’t let you forget it. She and P taught me how to play triominos today, which basically consisted of P playing and big M playing my turns for me. 

Little M thinks I am afraid of dogs because she scared me yesterday while throwing a stuffed dog at me, so now I’m afraid of dogs in her eyes and it’s really cute. She was the first of my girls to take to me I guess? She likes to play with her stuffed animals and she LOVES to jump. Basically, she’s adorable.

P hasn’t really talked to me yet. She’s kinda quiet though so I feel like it might take a little bit longer. 

I think the weirdest adjustment for me so far is that I am a “vous” and not a “tu”, so hearing things that I normally have directed toward me in a familiar way are formal and so it takes me a little bit longer. But my host mom was a French Teacher, so she understands if I don’t quite get it. However, this family is so flipping formal in every day speech so I feel kinda weird because normally it’s not like that wherever else I am in France. 

But I’m happy about this family and I’m excited to see what else happens!!
